Greetings. Im new to this site, but it would seem that you guys know your stuff. Anyway I have a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi extreme Music and a pair of Sennhieser HD 515. I am fairly pleased wiht the performance of both. But Am I getting what I could be? When ever the volume is turned up to max in the soundcard control panel and half way in winamp the sound is loud, but it hurts my ears with the sharpness. It is also like this in games. I like to hear small details, but when A gun is fired or a grenade goes off, so does my ears. My question is, if I do get an amplifier what exactly will it do? Will it "clear" out the sharp pottent sound that is produced at the high volume? Or would it be better to simply buy a better quality set of cans? And yes, I have burned them in over 500 hours at least. Thanks.
