I am about to get a pair of RS-1 (thanks for the help, Mr.Slacker) and I am wondering which amp to buy. I will probably use mostly with a 5G Ipod though may use with my PC. I like the idea of the flexibility of a portable amp but will need this feature rarely so quality/price is more important. I dont mind paying for quality as I am a perfectionist but dont want to go insanely into diminishing returns territory. Id say at the moment my upper limit is $700. The amps Ive seen that Im tempted by are:

Mapletree Ear+ HD or HD2 (Reviewers seem to think these are excellent)
Little Dot Mk3 (As above but cheap?)
Corda Move (Can be used in low or high power modes and with external supply, also has USB but maybe not good with RS-1s)
Millett Hybrid TTVJ (Maybe close to being as good as a home amp?)

I would be very grateful for opinions on the best amp to achieve synergy with the RS-1s. Feel free to shoot down my comments in brackets!

The HeadAmp Gilmore Lite maybe?
With, or without, the dedicated power supply.

I've had the Mapletree Ear+ HD Purist for over a year and a half now, and find it an excellent tube amp that really shines with Grados.

And Dr. Peppard is great to work with, as well. Always prompt and pleasant to deal with.

Plus, it's easy to tune the sound to your preference by simply changing one easy to find tube. But be forwarned, tube swapping can be addictive.

I bought a pair of RS1's to round off my headphone experience, as I have only sampled the likes of AKG, Sennheiser and Shure.
I love them and feel their warmth with the X-Can or M3. But I want to try them with a Meier Opera..

I use both the Glite and MAD amp with the RS-1. It's hard to say which I like more. Different amps for different moods. Both are GREAT amps though.
