Amplification for the DT880

I've been looking into trying out the Beyer dt880's. My plan is to buy the headphones with the intentions of later buying an amplifier, and then working on the source etc. Also, I plan on making my source a laptop computer, however I can always be presuaded out of it. That being said:

When the time comes around for me to be able to get the amplifier.. how much should I be prepared to spend to "wake" these babies up?

I recently purchased an 880. I'm probably going to go with a tube amp. Price range to do them justice would be around $300 and up IMO.
