I recently had to send in the S4's for a new pair, because the remote was acting funny, but I had close to 100 hours on them, and they weren't sounding any better to me.

So in the time I had the S4i's, I've found them to be a bit muddy with my iPod Touch 3g and Macbook Pro (these are my only sources.) I've been thinking about upgrading to better IEM's, but I'm curious if amping them (with an iBasso T3) would help clear up the IEM's before I shell out for other IEM's, since the next step up I want to try are the IE8's.

If it helps, I listen to alot of rock (Breaking Benjamin/Rise Against), punk (Sum41), hip hop (2pac, john legend, etc), as well as watch movies and shows with them on my macbook/ipod touch. My musical tastes are all over the place and I listen to a bit of everything. Love bass, but in addition to bass, I need clarity. I like having music come across as clear and warm if that makes any sense at all... sorry for my lack of technical terms.

In addition to the T3, are there other amps you guys would recommend for an ipod touch/macbook pro w/ the S4's or another combo that would work well together (different IEM's/amp combos)?

I don't have the T3 but the older T4 does not pair well with the Klipsch. Though there are many here who hail the S4 as the second coming, I share your sentiments regarding them being slightly muddy. Best save the $120 and invest in a nicer earphone rather than amping the S4.
