amping noise canceling headphones

did a search and didn't find a thread, sorry if it exists.

is it harmful to the circuitry in the noise canceling system to amp an active headphone like the senn pxc-450s? seems like it shouldn't, but i could also see how it could.

It wont do a damn thing for them. Most likely will not hurt them, however it will not do anything for the sound. Since the noise cancellation circuit IS an amp.

I doubt it will be affected but my older noise cancellation headphones don't sound any better on an amp. Especially with the circuitry active.

edit: I had to help someone with something so ended up posting a few seconds after above.

If anything they sound better unamped and on their own connected directly to a source.
