Hi,

So I've gone ahead and bought an iPod to be modded and now I need to get an amp. I was originally hoping for a Supermini or Tomahawk, but now it is seeming likely that I won't have enough money. I think I should look in the sub hundred range, ideally 60 or less. Any thoughts? I would assume PA2V2 (in part because that is all I know), but I thought I would take suggestions.

It will be imod --> Amp --> Shure e5's

Also, while I'm at it, I will need a decent but not too expensive cord (eventually want an ALO cord). I was thinking a Cardas 6". Any other suggestions?

Go-Vibe 5 seems to be the FOTM.

I am looking at the Little Dot Micro+ -- sounds like that is more favored than PA2V2 now (last I researched was a while ago).

Thanks for the recommendations -- keep them coming!

(I am a bit worried about breaking the super-micro. I am thinking about the mini or maybe even the Tomahawk for durability.)

i hear good things about the go-vibe. why would you think about the tomahawk since you want to keep the price under 100? is your budget up to 300?

Typical head-fi effect. When someone says "X" amount of money as their budget...it means 3-4 times that amount after head-fi is done with them.

Perhaps my original post was a bit confusing. I want to ultimately get something in the 2-300 dollar range, but it looks like I am running out of money. So I am going to buy a sub-100 amp to hold me over. Someone then suggested that I save up for a Micro (180ish). But I am worried about the durability, that's why I am seriously considering (eventually) getting a Tomahawk.

Hopefully that is clear now. Keep recommendations coming. Also: comparisons between Go Vibe and SDM+.
