I ordered some Koss Pro4aaat stereophones last week. 250 ohms, so I expected that they'de be pretty hard to drive. When I got them I opened up iTunes and plugged the headphones in, slowly bringing up the volume and pre-gain. They get pretty loud, but sound like crap.
I'm guessing it's only because of the low output of the Macbook being pushed into a pretty decent load.
I ordered a FiiO E5 portable for airplanes and long train rides.
An Asus soundcard with a headphone circuit that I've been groveling over for a while.
And parts for a Millet Starving Student.
Will these help with the crappy sound quality?
I've read mixed reviews and comments on all of them, and I know that it's quite possible that my cans sound crappy because they are crappy.
The headphones only cost $75, and will probably only be around for a little while before I upgrade.
