looking for a sub 1k amp to add more bass impact to ad2000s. If it can add details along with the bass that is a plus. Currently using a shellbrook millet hybrid with steps.

The larger transformer of the MPX3 seems to enable you to drive 6BL7 and 6BX7 tubes as well. Besides, you get better mains filtration too with the MPX3. Even better is a MPX3 with Supra transformer.

I can testify that, in comparison to the 6SN7GT, at least GE 6BX7GT are very potent tubes in terms of dynamics and impact.

Dynahis definitely fit the bill if you can find one in your budget. I went from an old model mpx3 to a dynahi and was very happy, until I got bitten by the balanced bug...
