Hi experts,

I am newbie and recently bought my v-moda M-100. I've started using it with my Iphone 6 and all well but I tried my headphones with my workplace computer and there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the music and headphones performed really well. Now I started searching for an AMP so that I can enjoy my headphones performance utterly.

I red about couple of Amps like FiiO E06 , FiiO E11K , FiiO E12 and TOPPING NX2  which one is better for me here you reckon. Also would you suggest me to save some more money and get the player with Amp like FiiO X3 since my iphone is 16 GB and doesnt have much storage available to save albums but only advantage is using Spotify to listen music.

Many thanks for your time.

What did you like better about how they sound with your computer? I am not an Apple person, but the iPhone supposedly has decent sound. Did it not drive your headphones loud enough for you?

I have personally been using the Vmoda M-100 with an E12 Monte Blanc Edition portable amp because I like the "bass boost" option on the side of it and the gain settings are perfect for both EDM and gaming.   Again, if you use Spotify you are going to run into dimmenishing returns on your setup, so you should upgrade in this order always: Headphones, Amp, DAC.  When you spend the money, the source will eventually showing up as the long pole, at least in my experience and all the posts I've read.    I have pushed the Vmodas with 2 tube amps, one HTC and one Lyr 2 made by SCHIIT.  Both have been able to push without a second thought the very low impedance headphones you and I have.  Zero portablilty with those latter options though.  I have tried the E7, 17 and 12 and found the 12 to best suit my "color" and taste in music as well as the source (usually Tidal HIFI and or FLAC music (96/24 bit)).

If you have the Vmoda's, know that a tube amp, if you choose to roll the tubes, won't display the colors as well as the more critical headphones like the HD800s and the like.  However, they will be "warmer" and the Vmoda is already extremely warm.  Going pure electro may be the best way forward for you and if I were to give you the one amp that will be portable and still very powerful, the 12 suits me and my wallet.

I would say to go for the FiiO X3 Gen II (X3K).
It's CS4398 (newest revision) DAC chip should be better then whatever your iPhone 6 came with.
The X3's headphone amplifier should have way more then enough power to drive the 32-Ohm V-Moda
Also the battery charge on the iPhone should last longer if your not play music thru it all day.
