Hello folks,

I have just puchased my first pair of headphones the sennheiser hd595 and was told by the seller that I would get much better sound out of them if used with an amp.

The amps that he recommended were the following :

1- Darkvoice
2- Little Dot
3- Xaolu (not sure about the spelling)
4- Pico
5- Xin

Which one of them would you say has the best synergy with the HD595 headphones in the 100-200$ range?
I'm looking for something that's well established and tried and true

Thanks

I've got the DV 336i with the HD595, while over budged they sound ok/quite good. I ended up wanting to upgrade my phones. I think thats because of impedance mismatching. I also think the HD595 sound quite good straight out of a decent soundcard or CDP.

The pico and the xin I think are portable amps. Don't know about the Xaolu thing, maybe he means the Zhaolu DAC/AMP.

Here's a review about the MKIII with the HD595.

Goodluck!

I have the 595's paired with a Little Dot II++ and I love them. The II++ has been replaced by the MKII, essentailly the same amp (only a little better) and is in your budget!
