Need your help..
This is my equipment : Receiver : Onkyo TX-DS 484
Phone Amp : Grado RA-1
Phones : Grado SR 80 and Senn 600

The RA-1 is connected to the receiver thru the "phone out " plug

Problem is : Not enough juice, have to pump the volumen on both very high..

The question : Could it be possible to connect the phone amp to some place in the back of receiver, therefore, bypassing the phone out plug??!!

You have the last word...and thanks

Do you mean the RA-1 is conencted via the Headphone jack ("Phone out") of your receiver? If so, ditch that idea, get yourself some RCA-RCA interconnects and connect the RA-1 to the "tape/aux out" of your receiver.

Hopefully that will solve your problem

good advice

the reason to obtain a separate headphone amp is to ontain superior sound compared to the pos headphone output available from the majority of receivers/integrated anps

by using the headphone out jack all you are doing is hanging a superior sounding device on anh inferior signal, limited by whatever opamp/active device/resistor network being used

garbage in/garbge out
