Amp on STX causes noise?

I am about to finalise on the ASUS Xonar STX and wanted to know if its headphone amp adds or amplifies a bit of noise through it as well. I ask because I intend to use this soundcard along with my headamps and wonder if it will do as well as a preamp?

Sure you could use it to drive your amps, I guess I am just wondering why your suggesting using the headphone out over the line-outs? unless I am mis-understanding your post.
To note, the Headphone amp on this card is dead quiet..

Thanks. Nope Robo, I will experiment with both the Line out and the amp. Lets see what suits.
