I'm scooting around the trade section, and I wonder if I buy a RS amp now ... hornet or mustang, can i buy a dac (or dac.amp combo like ibasso d2 and use that just for the dac) later, or have i got this amp/dac thing completely wrong?

yes u can buy a dac later or you can just buy a dac/amp combo like the pico or predator or d10

the same reason as always... splash (cash). I've just bought a 2007 Hornet for a third of the price of a predator. I guess i could always work my way up, but for now I want to get my hands on a half decent pair of headphones.
