I keep reading about headphone amp kits and amps being made by different people. Where are you purchasing these kits, that sounds like loads of fun but I cannot find anything online. Please fill me in on where I might purchase a amp kit, particularly a portable amp.

...or you can try Tangent's Audio Site, he sells virtually everything you need to build a META42. What he doesn't sell, he provides a parts list complete with part numbers and vendors.

Particularly a portable amp? If you're new to DIY electronics you might start with the basic CMoy amp. You can find schematics and instructions on building this amp at Headwize and Tangent's site. This is what I'm currently doing as I'm new to the DIY electronics world. If you already know what's up, definitely build up that Meta42. It holds up very well to amps costing even hundreds more.

-edit, I guess not.

Over in the Headwize marketplace forum, there's someone selling parts to make two META42 amps. Build one, sell the other.
