TLDR: FiiO E09k amp broke, still have functional FiiO E07k DAC. Would like to be able to use one or two headphones [25 Ohm, 50 Ohm, 300 Ohm] at the same time. I'm okay with sound level difference if splitters are advisable. Also need to be able to output to Denon receiver (currently using Line Out) and preferably at the same time as using one pair of headphones. Limit probably around $300, but would prefer to stay under $200. Happy to buy used, and relatively capable of soldering and electrical assembly if DIY is the best choice.

I have been using a FiiO E07k/E09k stack for all my DAC/AMP needs for a few years now. I have found them to be sufficient, until the E09k broke (there were a few hours/days of it acting weird, and now sound only comes out of the right ear).

My headphone inventory is Sennheiser HD595 (50 Ohm), Sennheiser HD6XX (300 Ohm), and Denon AH-D5000 (25 Ohm). I have been watching various shows at my computer with my 2-yo and he very much likes us to both wear our headphones (totally fine with me). I have a 1/4" Y-splitter that I have been using to accomplish this, although I'm not sure if that's blasphemous here, or how much if so. He uses the 595's, which sound notably louder than the Denon's and the 6XX's. He, however, likes to listen quieter than I do, so I usually end up having very low volume in my headphones. I'd like to have mine be louder, but I'm not going to let him wear the Denons or the 6XXs. I also probably won't be willing to spend a lot more money for this feature alone (although if this feature comes with higher quality, costlier equipment I will at least consider it).

I ran the RCA Line Out to my receiver for when we watch things on the TV, or for when I listen to music while cooking. I've been letting the kiddo watch Mr. Roger's Neighborhood while I cook dinner a lot of nights. I like to listen along from the kitchen, so I turn the speakers on, but he still likes to listen to his headphones, so I'd very much like to be able to have sound going to one set of headphones and the Denon receiver simultaneously.

I've been kind of drawn to the Schiit Asgard2, but it apparently turns off the pre-outs when you plug in headphones, so that seems pretty un-ideal for using speakers and headphones simultaneously. I suppose I wouldn't be opposed to having multiple units if there happens to be a good way to accomplish these goals (e.g. a DAC running two or more amps or something goofy). I'm not sure if my hearing is good enough to really benefit from a significant DAC upgrade. That being said, the E07k is just kinda laying on my desk awkwardly since it's not docked nicely in its now-broken amp, and it might make a nice portable unit if there were a not-too-expensive desktop DAC just itching to take its place and help my desk be a little bit more respectable.

Thanks for taking the time to read through my hopefully-coherent-enough ramblings.

I think you would want to split the signal out of the dac, you may run into ground loops though so you would want an rca ground loop isolator on one side. What a great super specific use case you have though xD
