Hi Guys,

Current setup:
PS4 > SB X7 (Upgraded PSU) > AD700x

Got to reading about T1 and after seeing its cons = bright and its pros = pinpoint accuracy I figure its going to basically be awesome for my needs (Competitive gaming + Casual music)

Anyway I have just ordered a Gen 1 version used (£379) should be here by Tuesday.

My SB X7 is rated as 600Ohms but I read the T1 is VERY hungry so not sure it will be adequate?

Anyway my question if not is two fold:

1. Can I use my SB X7 to act as a DAC only?

So take 5.1 dd optical in, apply virtual surround sound and SBX and maybe EQ, then pass this back out via optical out so as to bypass the amp and then use something higher end to amp it.

2. If so what would be a good amp? - (Bang for buck)

I would try it with your SB X7 first. The X7 will not make the T1 shine but then music is not your primary use for these headphones. As for your first question I can't help you with that. As for an amplifier the Objective O2 or O2+ODAC are good choices. Very neutral they just get out of the way and would easily drive your T1. An interesting choice of headphone for gaming although its soundstage/imaging capabilities will be good for gaming.
