Amp for SR80's

I am testing the water for amps.. I might consider buying one if I don't like the sound of my Grado SR80's off my soundcard when I get them. What is a decent quality budget amp that would be good to drive them off? Also, I have read that you can build your own amps, how hard is this?

Contact JMT about building you a CHA47 amp......it was designed specifically for Grados. And it's VERY reasonable in price.

You probably won't like your soundcard much....after hearing the Grado's out of a cha47.

Yeah, especially since I have an SB live

.. I am going to be getting a Turtle beach in a few days though at least.. I pm'ed JMT about building a cha47

There maybe hope for the SB live. I think 300_baud over at headwize did some mods (opamp swaps) to the SB live. May want to check it out.
