Hi guys,

I am considering an amp (with LOD) for my portable setup.
I have an iPod Touch 3g and a pair of Ety ER4P's. How much will my setup benefit from an amp?
My second question is which amp fit my needs best: the iBasso T3, T4 or the Meier-Audio Headsix? These are my only options because of my budget and availability.

(PS: used the search function but couldn't find an answer to my question.)

First things first, the T3 definitely trumps the T4 for you. Not only it is it smaller, it has better sound quality and is made or IEMs. So now we are down to the T3 and the Headsix.

For pure sound quality it seems like the Headsix is the way to go. However, you also have to consider the fact that the T3 is smaller, less expensive, and is made for IEMs.

What did you search?Though there aren't many direct comparisons, there are many reviews of these individual amps. See a few links below:

Note that the Headsix has the same amp as the XXS, 2MOVE, etc.

x2.  Although I can't imagine any amp doing much to improve your ER4P's unless you went LOD from the iPod.  If you had ER4S's or a P--->S converter cable then yes the T3 and Headsix would be an improvement.

I will be getting a LOD for my iPod, I'll put it my opening post. And if it is really worth it I will probably also get the P --> S converter.
Still waiting for more results.

Thanks for the links voilinvirtuoso, much appreciated.
