Hi guys,

What is the suitable amp for IM716 and HD595? I'm thinking of around US100 for a portable amp for IM716 but since I have no home amp yet, I hope that it can drive my HD595 too... So any suggestion?

Actually I have a tought of getting pimeta (with 637) or 3 channel cmoy, but how does these performed with both my cans?

I use a cMoy amp with my im716s and to me it does a fine job at running them. From what I have read the 595s are not a hard load to handle so I would have to say the cMoy could do the job there also.

I've tried my portable Pimeta with the iM716 I've just bought and it works wonders. They sound airy, with good bass impact. According to the fellow headfier who sold it to me, the Pimeta "gives life to Sennheisers", as well. He used to have an HD580.

Hmm, I saw that you modded your IM716 with 41 ohm... so does the pimeta give better bass with impact? since I feel that IM716 with 41 ohm still lack bass for some of my music... If it does add the bass without reducing the quality of the mid and highs.... than I will seriously consider the pimeta as the amp to go for.

Yes. Bass gains impact compared to my JVC. Sound is also more spaced and "airy", and mids don't loose at all. Anyway, you have PM.

I use a go-vibe 5 with mines. For the price they are selling for now I can't see how you can get the same amount of detail for the price. I bought mines for full retail when they for came out at $81 and I still think it was worth it.

but if let say I can get pimeta with 637 and go vibe 5 with the same price, which one is the way to go?

I don't think they are in the same league. Pimeta is so cheap only because it's DIY.
