Current setup:

MacBook Pro>Fiio E7>D5000

or

MacBook Pro>old Pioneer receiver>HD 598

What would you guys recommend using to amp the D5000s and HD 598s? I particularly like the bass boost on the Fiio E7 for the D5000s and sometimes HD 598s. I really don't know a thing about amps so I am open to suggestions. Trying to stay under $400 but would really like the cheapest option.

The Denon AH-D5000 (25-Ohm) and Senn HD598 (50-Ohm) are very easy to drive, so you really do not need a better amplifier then the Fiio E7.
I would guess the Fiio E7 is better at amplifying (quality wise) the D5000 & HD698 then the old Pioneer
A better DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) would more likey improve the audio quality.

If you want the portable headphhone AMPs then there are better AMPs available than E7 like JDS Labs C421, iBasso PB2, RSA P51 Mustang. But if use in home then fullsize desktop AMPs are much better sounding with more power like Schiit Asgard, Matrix M Stage.

Thanks a ton for the info. I was pretty sure the Fiio was all I needed! I love the D5000s from the Fiio. For some reason I prefer the 598s out of the receiver. Why? I don't know, I can't put my finger on it. I feel like the soundstage is better imaged coming out of the receiver than the Fiio. Could be bias, though I am not sure. Thanks again for the advice! Good to know I don't have to spend money; I'd take that advice any day!

Thats because the Amp section of the Fiio e7 is weak, your receiver delivers more juice thus the 598's scale nicely.
