I'm using the slim-x 350 and a pair of mx500. What would be a good amp choice? Supermini? Cmoy? JMT mint amp?

Could I build a useable META42 in the Serpac H-65 case for 100 bucks or so? I tried searching the forum for one but came up with nothing

Check out the parts list. Make a note of the parts that you would need (Tangent does a great job in describing those that are a must, and those that are optional), then go the respective vendor websites (Digikey, Newark, and Mouser) and price out the components that you will want to buy. Don't forget to factor in the board and buffers (available from Tangent).
The issue might be that if you fall under their minimum order then there is usually a surcharge. So be wary and try to get your stuff from one vendor when possible.
