What's the track that has most made you appreciate your amp/ brought the best out of it?
Or that's made you think, 'Yeah, that's what it should sound like'?

Me, I'm still searching. ATM it's probably something off The Very Best Of The Eagles. But I suspect it's more because it's one of the better mastered CDs I have.

Have fun!

Miles Davis Kind of Blue Track #1 So What at 1:32 into it there is this great burst of energy from Paul Chambers on Bass. This is a benchmark track for evaluating my amps.

The way the very high-pitched bells sound during the intro and coda of "Ocean Soul" from Century Child by Nightwish, and the way the instruments sound on "Sitting In Limbo" from Jerry Garcia/David Grisman's Been All Around The World

For you Eagles fans Hotel California off Hell Freezes Over is a very good bass tester 4 sure.

One of my favorite songs for testing is "What's Up?" by 4 non blondes;-)

The Puccini Album; Arias for Piano, John Bayless. An Angel Recording. Any sound. From the breath of the Piano whisper. Silken overtones. To the Crashing Crescendo. Where the Piano Soundboard launches into a low atmospheric orbit. Life is Good!!

x2, also the Dark Side of the Moon album from Pink Floyd is a good one for detail and soundstage.

Rush, Natural Science from the "Permanent Waves" album.

The layers of different textures are a delight...water/acoustics/Geddy/lyrics

"all the busy little creatures chasing out there destinies
living in their pools they soon forget about the sea
wheels within wheels in a spiral array
a pattern so grand and complex
time after time we lose sight of the way
our causes can't see their effects"

CAN's "Flow Motion" SACD. Great range of dynamics, high and low notes, and a good groove, to boot.

Binaural, too. Always one of the first things I put on when evaluating an amp.
