I am looking for an small easy to use amp and dac for my iPad mini with retina i dont want anything with to many cables i just want something with lighting to usb with direct connect. I saw the VAMP VERZA but it says nothing about iPad air or iPad mini 2 just says it works for iPhone 5s. My other option was the Fiio E18 with the cck but not sure if it works on the iPad air or iPad mini 2.

Centrance m-8 or cypher labs have a killer dac/amp combo.

JDS labs C5D is a great little dac/amp combo. Only thing you need the cck cable.
