I don't have a lot of free time at the moment, so my impressions about the modified MH335DW are going to be brief, at least for now.
Build quality: a couple of very small bubble that can only be seem upon really close inspection, otherwise it's top notch. The build is definitely way better than the other full acrylic I used to have (Earsonics SEM-6). The metallic tube bore is really big, so the other bore seems really small and could be harder to clean later on.
Cable synergy: I have the standard fitear cable and an hybrid forza. I dodn't think the hybrid forza pairs well with it, the bass lose all it's impact.
Contact with Ambient Acoustics: It was nice, I used mostly facebook to contact them and the website to chose my design. It didn't take more than a day to get a reply and they were always helpful.
Isolation and fit : Perfect. It beats the Ei.xx I had with ease in this department and I find it to isolate even more than my H8Pro (this makes me wonder if I'll ask for acrylic with silicone filling in my H8.2).
Sound. Definitely warmer than what I used (H8P) but it was to be expected and it's clearly not dark as hell as the S-EM6. The reason I sold my Ei.XX was because I liked the sub-bass but felt that the "regular" bass was lacking. Here's we got a really good bass, I love the blend of impact and quality. You usually can't get both, like the H8P have a really nice control and definition but lack impact. Here the definition is under H8P but still good and with a really nice impact. I like it a lot. The mids are a bit recessed for my taste, but it's definitely something I can live with, probably due to the bass being so prominent and extending a little bit on the mid. But don't get me wrong, the bass don't overpowered everything and the mids and high have a god definition too. I'm glad I went with the resonator upgrade because I don't have any issue with the high frequency and I don't find them to be "too much" with them and they certainly have a nice touch. I experienced no sibilance as of yet and they are not a fatiguing CIEMs. The soundstage is on the rather intimist side but the imaging s fairly good so I have no issue with it.
So bottom line, I'm happy with my purchase, thank you Ambient Acoustics!
