Hello everyone, this is my first post in many, many years, but I should have (and could not have) posted this earlier. Sorry...

Now there might already be some posts about what I am going to write, but I thought to make a simple, short topic instead.

For those who wish to own some pretty well revered triple-driver IEM's, take a look at the following two links:

Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 Pro for £109.99
Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 Pro via Amazon.com for $170.62

So, though there may be superior triple-driver IEM's out there that are better than the UE Triple.Fi 10 Pro in terms of audio, quality and price (such as the Shure SE535 or Westone UMX3, but I really, really, REALLY, want the Audio-Technica CK100, or the AKG K 3003....one day...
frown.gif
), for today, almost nothing beats them in those same terms, audio/quality/price. If you have the cash, go get them!!!

Oh, and btw, I happen to be an owner of the UE Super.Fi 5 Pro (lost one of the earbuds a few years ago, very sad and still sore
mad.gif
), and I currently own an Etymotic ER-6i
etysmile.gif
, and an AKG K 701 with stock cable

now thats a damn good price indeed, i just purchased some sony ex1000's for £199 and thought they were a good one off deal but whoa these pip it i think. its like you say they are not generally regarded as top draw anymore but at that price nothing comes close, honestly guys snatch them up because even in 6 months if you get bored you will make most of that money back if not all.

The Sony's are interesting, but I used this thread and other comments/reviews/so forth, from this forum and the internet, to form my own opinions, and though I wanted the EX1000, the A-T CK100 is, in my view, the best triple-driver IEM based of other peoples reports (obviously my own listening experience of the IEM will tell me if that is true for myself, but I can't even demo them, let alone obtain one without going through loops or going bankrupt...

).
I also think that the AKG K 3003 maybe the best IEM's in the world, but at that price? Erm...there are some very nice HP's/Custom IEM's that could be purchased around that price, even if it is excellent...

I already own a pair I got in their last deal. I don't need these, I'm strong, I can resist...

Your on Head-Fi, and your wallet already hates you. You know what to do...

sorry i should have been clearer i ordered my sony's off amazon from a third party who was selling a brand new set for that price due to a damaged box which is not included. so yeh it was a one off but not one i could let slip by at the price of those sony's.

but again as i say it still doesnt trump that triple fi price lol

Nice find, didn't know this. Finally one great TF10 deal for EU people and Amazon has started shipping to my country, yay!

Already own a pair too, for 3 years to be exactly and use them every day, but I still couldn't resist this. Want something I can go re-shell as first steps into the custom world, that way getting experience before going more expensive stuff. (good thing)
TF10 are great, so I think of Audio-Technica CK100, want to try those as well. :D

If I had the  cash, I would have got two, one stock, and one for re-shelling. I can't do that, but getting my first triple-driver IEM is a wondrous moment in itself!

Man, my new TF10's are already here on my table. Awesome service from Amazon, can't believe it. They seem still go for above prices, I now only see good reasons to bump this thread.
Here's another link for Germany:
Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 Pro via Amazon.de for 150 €

I am glad you have got yours, and the deal is still going strong, so yeah, get these IEM's while you can!
wink.gif

Unfortunately for me, I have to wait until the 5th of Jan '12 to receive mine.
frown.gif
After I purchased the IEM's, a few days later there was an update on the Amazon.co.uk website to receive the Triple.Fi 10's before the 31 Dec '11 under the Free Shipping option (that is now not the case at time of this post), but my current order could not be cancelled as it was in the 'Dispatching' process, so I have to wait. I did say I was patient, but now I don't think that's true. I WANT MY IEM's NOW DAMMIT!!!!!!
mad.gif
This also means I am jealous of everyone who has got the IEM's either now or in the next few days...grrr...
angry_face.gif

What's worse? I placed an order for some nice shoes, and along with it, the Comply TX-500 foam tips; I'm getting both on 31 Dec '11 (tomorrow), so yeah, the waiting game is killing me (my AKG K 701 is soothing me whilst I pace around my room....).
k701smile.gif

On that note, sometime in January, I will be placing an order for some ACS UK Custom Fit Earphone Sleeves (see this link for their other website) for my UE Triple.Fi 10 Pro's, though I am choosing which of these three companies to order with (HiFiHeadphones.co.uk, iHeadphones.co.uk, or BootsHearingCare.com).
After that, I will be possibly contacting JDSLabs.com for a custom cMoy amp or get the C421 HA amp, but I am looking closely at the following Ray Samuels' smaller (cheaper...ish) amp's. Here are the amps I have selected, from lowest to highest, so far:

I will be using the blog Headfonia and this forum at other possible candidates.

Oh man, seriously, this morning at 7:44 am (UK time), a post man came bearing a gift, an Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 Pro IEM!!!
bigsmile_face.gif

I had been busy since then, but now that I am at home, I can try out these baby's with some lossless records I have; I have selected for today:

 1. Nine Inch Nails- The Downward Spiral 2CD and The Slip (at 96 kHz/24 bit) (possibly Ghosts I-IV too),
 2. Daft Punk- Alive 2007 2CD,
 3. Massive Attack- Mezzanine and Heligoland (possibly others),
 4. Metallica- Metallica and Nirvana- Nevermind (96 kHz/24 bit from HDTracks.com),
 5. Shimomura Yōko- Drammatica,
 6. Kanno Yoko- Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society, and finally,
 7. Symphonic Fantasies and Symphonic Odysseys- Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu by WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln/WDR Rundfunkchor Köln and Arnie Roth.
 8. wink.gif

It is a bit odd, however, that neither my new shoes nor my Comply TX-500 foam tips have come yet, but there is still time for deliveries to be made; I shall be using my last, unopened, Comply T500 foam tips for now.

Going to be an awesome day, and btw, Happy New Years to budding Head-Fi'ers! <3

Update:
Nope, not going to be an awesome day. AT ALL. My new Triple.Fi 10 Pro's are already broken.
eek.gif

After i opened the packaging, the left earpiece connector was loose, and just gently tugging it revealed that the connector housing was broken. Indeed, I could lift the connector housing of the left earpiece, and there were internal wires attached. Seriously, this is a VERY BAD DAY!!! I am going to have to ask Amazon.co.uk for a replacement set and will have to wait again. I am very disappointed a depressed right now.

Hello, I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but have a look at this review:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B000JFJDAE/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

This is the latest Amazon review of the product (dated 29 Dec 2011), so the question could be... do you think that this great deal could have to do with poor quality/defects of the units being sold?

It would be interesting to hear more opinions from someone who has bought these earphones recently.

in answer to your question, no the items are not defective hence the price. amazon would certainly not hide reasons as to why they reduced prices for a start, what you are reading is very possibly simply just an unfortunate soul who more than likely didnt look after an expensive pair of triple balanced armature earphones correctly, these are not the sort of things you want to throw about like your average ibud. they should be cleaned well, at least once every week to keep clear of wax build up, cables wiped down and stored in the case when not in use, following this procedure what reason would there be for them to break. hundreds of people have reported no issues and being totally happy with them, ok as with most products there are minor flaws that crop up but again these can usually be avoided unless its a serious manufacturing problem.

do not be afraid to buy for the odd review like that one you read. oh and just to make it clear i did not personally like the triple fi 10 and do not own them currently so i am in no way biased towards them i prefer the competing shure earphones as well as westone and lately the IE8 and sony ex1000, cant wait for more high end universals from ultimate ears tho bring on the quad fi pro!

edit: just to point out, notice how the reviewer doesnt mention how they broke, where the weaknesses are and how it effected the experience. he/she just says they are made from poor materials. so plastics then like 99% of earphones :)

^ This.

I am just unfortunate to have received a defective before use; the connector on the earphones, in which you insert the detachable cables, has actually come off with wires from inside the earphones attached. As I said, I noticed the looseness of the left earphones connector cable, but only after opening the package did the entire earphone fall of.

I filled out a replacement order with Amazon.co.uk (bill be using a courier to return my defective product) and was set to receive a new set of IEM's in a few weeks time. Yet Amazon have an amazing support system, and even after I placed my replacement order, I used the Amazon.co.uk 'Contact Us' page for them to ring me; from there I spoke to customer service, and the bumped my replacement set to next week using Royal Mail First Class Delivery! So yeah, I am pretty angry that I can't enjoy these IEM's yet, but the silver lining is very sweet; I'm glad I did not use an Amazon seller for this particular product.

This was a fluke (hopefully not a batch error), and, as many other members and critics/artists/live sound engineers, I trust UE with their quality and their SQ. I have owned the (discontinued) UE Super.Fi 5 Pro, and I love the Jerry Harvey UE sound that they made (the Triple.Fi's are his last 'on-the-shelf' universal IEM  product line, though I believe that the US website does not show them, so it may be the final coffin of his work and legacy at UE in terms of products).
It was unfortunate, though, that I did loose the right earpiece two years ago, and I have been using my Etymotic Research ER-6i's since. If I had the money, I KNOW that JH Audio customs is where I would look to first for custom IEM's (CIEM's), though looking at Head-Fi again, both Unique Melody and Heir Audio have piqued my interest (the former for their alternative to JH Audio, the latter for their extraordinarily beautiful CIEM's). But right now, the UE Triple.Fi 10 Pro's are a dream that I can grasp and, for the second time, behold in my hands.

@ jinx20001: The competition is very large in the IEM world, and as I have said in other posts on the forum, the Audio-Technica CK100 Pro's were IEM's that were on my 'to-buy' list sometime next year. I had considered the Shure SE535, Westone UM3X (rather than the Westone 3), Sennheiser IE8 (and recently the IE80), in that order of preference (but not so much the Sony MDR-EX1000, though they look mighty tasty). The Westone 4 would be a great buy, but here I think getting cheap or decent triple-driver CIEM's would be better money spent (my opinion). However, the discount cost for the UE Triple.Fi 10 Pro's was not just a logical purchase for someone who wants to upgrade from the Etymotic ER-6i's (and get the next in line from the Super.Fi 5 Pro's), get the UE house sound that I fell in love with, and get a fantastic IEM right now, months ahead of my plans, but an actual dream for me since 2007; I had always wanted the Triple.Fi's, even over the Shure SE530/535's. To me, this is a great opportunity to full fill a dream and get great sounding IEM's that are still of worthy merit in the IEM world. even if they are tedious to use, difficult to wear (until you get used to it), and are pretty large (low-profile IEM's really are better).
Also, out of pure interest and in no way insulting you, what is it that you did not like about the Triple.Fi's?
