Hey this is my first post hear at head fi.

So After using multiple pair of skullcandy ink'd, I decided to stop torchering my ears and purchased a pair of brainwavs betas and a pair of M4's. Still currently burning them both in but I am so happy I finally got a decent pair of earphones.

So am I doing it right? I listen to mostly hip-hop/rap. I'm not much of a bass lover though. I was wondering what is the normally reccomended to newbs here and how the quality of the brainwavs compare to others.

I'm not a huge fan over ear headphones as I mostly use them when I go the the gym or walking around doing other things.

Also what would be my next step, I see many people talking about the klipisch s4, I am soon going to be back working and looking for the next best thing. Also do I need an amp for my ipod touch?

Klipsch s4 will be a step backwards IMO, both of your phones are better, especially the M4....

IMO, the reason why S4 is so popular is because of the consumer-oriented sound (lots of bass)

And to answer your question about amping your iTouch, it's not particularly necessary, as IEM's are easy to drive from the start...
Only a few like the RE0 requires amps to particularly shine... again, take this with a grain of salt, as this is my own opinion... I'm sure alot of people will disagree as well as agree with me

But if you really want to get the best from your phones, than an amp help....

Thanks I'm considering sending back the beta's and putting them towards something else. The sale on the M4's was going on but they were OOS when I ordered and saw the beta's at the same price but I can already tell the M4's are way better even without burn in. I was just wondering about an amp, I saw there is a app for the ipod called Equ, I will to getting that very soon.

The RE0, JVC FXT90, Yamaha EPH100, HF5, Sony EX600, UETF10Pro will pair up well with iPod Touch when amping and i will recommend to try Fiio or iBasso Amplifiers like E11, T5, E10.

Thanks for the replies. I just got back from my interview so hopefully I get hired and start making money again.

I will take a look at what you posted and am going to enjoy my brainwavz for now.

It seems like lots of people hating of the brainwavz and some love them? anyone like to put in there two cents? for $28 I think they are great.
