I just wanted to mention that these are perhaps some of the nicest looking Grados I've ever seen. I don't know when ALO decided to start selling headphones, but they sure look purdy.

Does anyone own a set and care to share their impressions?

p.s. I haven't compared; how are prices set against Headphile's offerings?

I personally think really sexy the exposed copper cable look ...

You might like THOSE Grados. I am generally not a fan, but ALO SR225 was very musical at the int-l meet.

Agreed. And they do. Looks like they'll sleeve it however you want it: http://audiolineout.net/store/catalo...063a6232dc6660

As I mentioned in other ALO-woodied Grado threads, I listened to their demo cans at 2007 Head-Fest. They sounded great but there were not any unmodded cans nearby to compare to, so I can't comment on what improvements there are over stock.

The woodworking is truly is beautifully finished and impeccably crafted, easily on par with Headphile (and certainly FAR superior to OEM Grados). I like the ALO cups better than Headphile because it retains the basic Grado shape. Also, the plastic forks are not shortened like Headphile does to them.

That's $365 in mods.
In other words, a headphile 225 with:
koa with 1.5m of black copper cable
OR Ebony with a 1.5m black silver cable

Actually now that I think of it it's not a bad price as the headphile price adds up very fast.

You don't have to get the exposed copper wiring, just get the new custom sr225 woody.

The exposed wire lets everyone know its jenalabs cryo wire
