Still enjoying my Studio Six and unlikely I'll be selling it. I've settle on the following tubes for now:-

Sylvania 6sn7w metal base
2 x Philips ECG 6V6gt blue lettering
Mullard OB2
Mullard GZ34 (Blackburn)

Yggdrasil as DAC and ZMF Verite Open as headphone. Occasionally HD800. Unfortunately sold off the LCD-3f because I am using Verite all the time.

I love the Studio Six so may just hang onto it and put it into into my 2 channel vinyl based system. All I need to do is find a headphone that sounds like the 1266 TC but is easy to drive! Any suggestions?

The synergy between the HD800 and SS has been the recurring theme throughout this thread.
I believe that @longbowbbs regards it as a best amp he heard with (for) HD800.

Nothing is going to have the low end like the 1266's. However, the Focal Utopia's are wonderful with the S6.

Verite and HD800 are quite different but both are very enjoyable with Studio Six.

I've 2 other headphone tube amps which I like just as much - Woo Audio WA22 and Glenn Super 9 OTL amp but my ranking of them are as follows:-

Studio Six, Glenn OTL and WA22, the latter having very good tubes. In fact all of them have good tubes.

I concur with your rankings. The caveat being the tube compliment each amp is using.

@TomSix. Have you ever tested Mundurf Cap vs CSR Cap and see how the sound difference?
I am curious to know and perhaps Mod in the future?
