When i was here last the mad rocket professor XIN was up to his supermini 4 etc and this and the macro, the ray samuels hornet were the best amps around for portable use.

whats the deal nowadays is xin up to a supermini 6 and the hornet is obsolete lol.

I have a PINT and works great but it really chews the battery juice and is kinda bulky. Plus i will be getting iems so maybe something with a swithchable gain, that is if you guys reccomending amping these little sukkers at all.

cheers for any help guys, jjz.

RSA Tomahawk. Gain switches between 1 and 4(i think?) and battery lasts 400+ hours.

Xin released a new amp. The Xin Reference. I'm not sure if you were around for this though but The Hornet now has a "M" version. There is a 5G iMod.

If you wan to stay wit DIY esque amps, there is the Mini cubed. There is also a SuperMacro IV or a Super Mini IV you might want to check out.

Let's not forget about the new Meier Audio Corda Move If you haven't already you will want to check out Skylab's 20+ amp review. Also heres a thread devoted to the Corda Move.

Skylab is THE MAN.

But of course that isn't news around here.

Skylab has his own preferences, that may or may not be in line wit yours, you need to hear stuff and not believe stuff is the best solely because one person says it is.

The Singlepower Mini, which is the amp that you are referring to, is transportable (to a point anyways), not portable.

Nothing much has changed. Amps are getting better and everyone has an opinion . . . . . The B52 is going to be made portable. Ray is going to attach wheels to it and provide a triple muffled generator to go along with the double regulated ps. I just got some Bamboo earbuds that sound better than they should . . . eneloop batteries are great . . . I like my mac mouse with no cord. . . the weather in Euuugene, Oregon is great . . .

The Xin amps that were ordered when you were last here should ship in the next month or so.
