Lately, it seems that the MS-1 and MS-2i get a lot of attention on these boards, but the MS-pro is a rare mention. Are they considered inferior to the other high end dynamic headphones? Maybe not a lot of people have them?

I think part of it is that not many people have them and it's hard to get a good deal (unless you buy used) on them since the only place you can buy them is from Alessandro, and at $699, the price is bit steep and rather overpriced.

EDIT - And unlike other Grado models, they don't show up all that often for sale here or on eBay, thus making it even harder to get a good deal.

I'd be interested in getting a pair if I could find them on the FS forum here. I've heard that they don't show up often because the people that buy them are THAT satisfied!

Hopefully a pair shows up somewhere, I'll be keeping my eye out!

I am very satisfied with my pair, which I bought used after several months of patiently waiting. This is actually my second pair since I sold the first pair and then regretted that decision. Mine will not be going on sale any time soon. They do come up for sale every now and then, so be patient. Good luck.

I was lucky enough to grab a pair in delicious condition from a great fellow head fier just a few weeks ago.

I could not be more satisfied!

I agree that the $699 price tag is daunting. I have rarely seen them up on this board for sale.

I saw a review here once between the two that basically said that they are comparable phones and considering the price difference, the RS-1 is definitely the better buy.

Plus, there's a certain cachet to owning RS-1 that the MS-Pro just doesn't have, even if you say "but it's just a tweaked version!"

But isn't the whole point of getting Alessandro phones to achieve the more neutral Grado sound?

Got MS PRO with drivers marked in red. Very pleasant sound, good separation of instruments, he seems more refined, or a similar word. Good for a classic for sure. Now I'm listening with RA-1. Somewhere in a month I will meet with a friend who has a RS-1 also with red marked drivers. Let's look at the differences
