Nice. I'm due for some new IEMs soon, and these will be on my wishlist.

I am wondering if on the other side of the ceramic end if it's rubber like the n40.
Apparently the packaging has been finalized by the time of CES2018. We should expect it hit the market very soon.

Classy-looking IEM, and the price is decent given the config.
This certainly does explain why the K3003i is currently heavily discounted (sub 500$ in many countries).
4.4mm is NOT the next standard...

Unless you're willing to help AKG pay Sony some fees for their XXth proprietary connector, it won't happen.Shame no 4.4mm jack.

Since when do Sony charge a fee for terminating with 4.4mm? think you’re misinformed. I was under the impression Sony were simply trying to help the industry find a better standard for balanced connections. Having used it I agree it’s way better than the alternatives.

Great, I had read end of spring in the announcement, it will be earlier
Edit : not sure the video is an official source for the release date. All the official stuff says "Sprint 2018" pretty vague.
4.4mm is NOT the next standard...
Well, it might not be the new standard yet but It would appear that it is slowly being adopted by more and more (Sennheiser provides a 4.4 terminated cable with the IE800S) and becoming the new de facto standard for balanced. New amp for DX200 feature a 4.4 socket (amp4). As usual, practical aspect will prevail : 4.4 is sturdier than 2.5 for sure, people seem to like it, manufacturer will follow.
I wouldn't be surprised even Astell and Kern eventually come to this for future DAPs...
Edit : Interrestingly, AKG seems to use the same pattern as Sennheiser upon newlsetter subscription you get 10% off your next purchase... just valid one month though

Oh no, another hybrid clamouring for my attention...
Stay where you are, wallet.
Gotta love the statement price though.
