First things first I already have the equipment to power these so I already have that covered 

. I'm just extremely worried about purchasing Used AKG Q701's from Amazon. Reason being I'm worried that I'll purchase fakes, and that will be bad because this is an expensive headphones to me. I'm trying to save some money in the long run anyways.

Is it worth the shot to purchase them used? Or just buy brand new from Amazon.

I shy away from used headphones on Amazon especially from sellers with less than 98% positive feedback.

For $60 more than what Amazon is selling them for you can buy them from a reputable dealer like HeadRoom.

Saving money is important, but not at the risk of a giant hassle or having to return the headphone and wait for a replacement pair which may or may not have the same issues.
 
I recommend buying them from a reputable dealer so you can return them with ease and have confidence that the item will be new, legitimate, and covered by a warranty.

Used on amazon is $194~ish, Refurb goes for $219~ish, and brand new looks to be jumping from $229-232. I'll keep your reply in mind because this is a tough one.
