AKG K85 - Anyone ever heard if these????

It's a normal dynamic-type phone using a diaphragm/motor system based on microphone practice, which is pretty much standard these days.

Excellent closeup work, by the way. Good lighting, particularly. Thanks!

So how do they sound?

I did get this one brief sheet of info from AKG. I was hoping for
a brochure listing specs. etc. but... am happy to at least get this.
(It seems this unit is quite rare even in their own bank of data )

Attaching it here...

As to the sound, they sound very nice with a surprising openness to them. I find myself taking them off sometimes just to make sure the sound isn't coming from the room's stereo. Nice full bass, clear midrange with only the highs suffering a bit. - an all round very comfortable pair of headphones.

One small problem though maybe you can help with... the sound from one channel cuts out sometimes but comes back when I fiddle with the cord. I'm sure this is common to many headphones. I haven't yet found the exact "sweet spot" on the cable where it's happening. Is there an easy fix to this or should I send them off to AKG for repair?

Well that's it-thanks for your help.

Happy listening all...

Louis
