AKG K701 or HD650 or Ergo model 2

yes it's me again, i haven't brought my ultrasone icans, but when i do, i'll be on the look out for my next pair.

so give me your opinions on which i should go for. AKG K701'S OR SENNHEISER HD 650's or a nice pair of electrostatics. the reason why i've gone for these three is because in the UK, they are all about the same price.

oh, by the way the go-vibe v5 headphone amp i got the other day is fantastic.

look forward to your opinions.

bass on the 650s is more pronounced than the 701s. Both are
very much source dependent, needing powerful amps to drive them well. What do you use? I own both
as well as a new pair of Ultrasone 2500s for comparisons.

i've got my lovely go-vibe V5 headphone amp, but i think you'rre baout to tell me that the V5 won't really be enough. i'm i right?

Hi! Just so you know, the Ergo 2 aren't electrostatics -- they're dynamic, just like the other two models. I've heard that, with a good amp, they top both. And since I just bought some, I sure hope that they do!

both Ken and I have 650s and 701s so clearly we like both and probably for different reasons as we all hear differently. You really can't go wrong. I am a little concerned about your amplification. Underpowered, both headphones will lose a great deal of what they were designed for.

The Ergo does does fare better without amplification than the other two, but yes, all three need their big buckets of electricity to sing. Id pick the K701 after the other two, but thats just me. Having heard all three, the Ergo is my favourite, but not by a lot over the HD650.

I haven't heard the 701 but I prefer the Ergo2 to the 650.
