I started messing around with the equalizer today because imo the K701's just sounded rolled off/flat at the high end. I went off the headroom frequency response chart and did the best I could.

Anyways after listening to a few songs(rock/metal/rap no jazz or classical) with this equalizer on I can not go back to listening without it lol. It seems to have brought the headphones to life for me. Here is a pic and the equalizer preset. Please try it and see if it makes things sound better to you also.

Interesting.... I wonder how many have found the K70x lacking in the highs? While I might find my K702 a bit lacking in the area above 12 kHz, IMO there's a bit too much in the 2.5 kHz and 7 kHz areas and generally no shortage to treble.

hello owners AKG K701! (and 702)

now we can enjoy trusted frequrency response by personalaudio et ru:

http://personalaudio.ru/raa/otchety/naushniki/akg-k-701/AKG_K%20701_fr_impedance.png

so i use it for making equalizer for foobar. its not standart equlizer, but "Graphic equalizer", wich connect to foobar by adding foo_dsp_xgeq.dll to Component folder.

So here you can download equalizer-files for "Graphic equalizer" in foobar and then just Import it by clicking "Import..." in Graphic equalizer.

(use it if you want find balance in all wide frequrency... please read more down)

AKG K701: Just bass (original)

IMHO - sound is loose by using all-frequrency preset, you can hear itself. So i make just bass-preset, because this headphones needs bass. Use it if your DAC dont add some bass-frequrency.

and last
AKG K701: AKG just bass 2 (less)

Use it preset, if you think "Just bass (original)" give more bass that need, or your DAC adding color in bass-frequrency. For example i use it preset for jazz and rock on my Fiio X5 Gain=H, and use "Just bass (original)" when listening electronic music.

Now this headphones sound amazing! :D

p.s. sorry for my russian english :)
