I'd like to know what's exactly wrong with this couple.
I've never heard the k701/2, but I'd like to know how can a big soundstage affect listening to Clapton or the Led Zeppelin...

Because of the soundstage guitars can sound distant. Compare it with the in-your-face Grado sound. The Grado will be more exciting.
