I really like my AKG K601. Any other fellow owners out there?

Let's sing the praises of this under-rated and under-appreciated piece of sweetness!!

I love my K601. Deadly seducing under the Graham Slee amplification (used to hate it until I heard this combo, which I loved straight on first listen).

I like mine too. My ears just have hard time getting used to the sound. I listen at low volumes but I still get a bit of ringing.

I believe this pair is a keeper.

I think the K601 is pretty underrated.

I also have the DT880, and at times, I prefer the K601. The supposed "weakness" of the K601 is that it doesn't quite resolve the highs as well as phones like the K701 and the DT880. For some music, that's actually a plus, because at times the DT880 can get a little loud/shrill in the highs for me - causing me to turn down the volume.

I think the soundstage in the K601 is pretty expansive, too.

I bought the K601 when i was in love with my DT880, now both of them are eating bust, but the K601 less. It's very open, airy and wicked smooth mids make it a phone to grab from time to time. Paired up with an aria it's phone to remember!
