Hello together,

i am new here, and i got a Headphone "AKG K340" and two brandnew (sparepart) Electrostatic Diaphragm for it.

Now, coz i have to open the headphones i decide to do completely tuning with it.

I heard the Headphone sounds much better if modded.

I want: Deeeeep, dry Bass, and no sharp sound. I prefer Music like "Rammstein" or "Metallica" but also i love Irish Folk and Acoustic Guitar Music or i love "Alice in Chains Unplugged" for Example.. Most time i need the Headphones to listen Relaxing Music, some kind of those "High-End-Stuff", too. But i don´t listen to Classical Music.

Well, i have no idea how to do this, but somebody gave me the tip i should ask here in the forum, because there are many friendly peoples that would help me.

I would be very pleased if somebody can send me instructions, by email (saitenguru@gmx.de) maybe with pictures and the information where is plus and minus on the cables ;-) How i should mod my K340 for best results.

Thank you very very much,

greetings from Bavaria,

Saitenguru

Welcome to head-fi, Saitenguru, and sorry about your wallet.
You've already PMed me about modding the K340s via the german Hifi-forum.de, and you'll get a reply soon. Quote:

AKG is still selling spare parts after all these years?
That's interesting news since the electret drivers wear out over time, no matter if the headphones are used or not.
How much did they cost?
