AKG K324P
Somebody heard this new akg IEM? What sound quality they have? and isolation? Is comparable to some Shure IEM?
Yes, as a matter of fact, I have, and I'm glad someone asked. After auditioning IEM's by U.E., Shure, Bose, Etymotic <sp> and V-Moda, I found none of them remotely approached the level the detail and clarity found with these relatively obscure IEM's.

I've been a fan of AKG studio headphones (specifically the K-240's) for decades, but was a little skeptical that ANY IEM could come close in quality to their OEM's. One listen will quickly change this perception.

It is a sin that these remain relatively obscure over here, as you can't find them ANYWHERE. Mine had to come from the other side of the globe, for goodness sake. That's mind boggling, given how outstanding these are.

I paid around $30 for my pair online, which, given what Bose, Shure and U.E. charge for their "pro" lines, is a steal.

If you can find a pair of these, you won't need another.

Enjoy

Just got the k324s today. They are very impressive. Very surprised at the clarity. Bass is very tight and well controlled. To me, the bass is PERFECT. Highs are a wee bit too overpowering. Mids are perfect. In fact, these sound very similar to Klipsch Custom 3s, except the soundstage with the custom 3s is noticeably better.
Great thing is, bought them for only $11US inclusive of postage.
Only listened for 2 hours and had to post this comment as I was sooo impressed. I can't wait til these IEMs loosen up over time. I'm going to buy a couple more pairs as a back up. I can't see IEMs getting much better than this in the near or even moderately far future.
