From this, it might well be a new IEM, or a full IEM system with transmitter and receiver.

Aren't AKG product codes that start with a 3 used for either earbuds or IEMs? If this was full-size, wouldn't this start with a 4, 5, 6, or 7?

By that logic, and assuming this is really an AKG product due for release, I predict this is a 3-way IEM likely using three balanced armatures.

EDIT: Beaten

but still, with 4 digits is hard to tell whether is a bud/iem or a full-size
but i agree with that "3-way" looks like something that can be changed by user tastes. so maybe its an iem

but as for all akg products i guess they ll be overpriced

Hmm, looks like AKG is entering the fray that is known as triple driver universal IEMs fight. With all that competitors out there, I wonder how will they compare. Although I am not a big fan of their inline volume control at all.

Most likely triple BA, since there are almost no dual-dynamics out there (like the Radius DDM). Also probably a three-way crossover, but that's just a guess.

The price is not that surprising considering Sony released their new EX-1000 at around $1000 (though now it's around $500).

Sound-wise, it is interesting since it's AKG!
