Hi guys,

I have a computer that is extremely loud, due to my installing 7 3000rpm fans that are about 46dBa each. Its too loud to use speakers, so I want to move to headphones. I have a set of beats studios, but I also want to use an amp/dac to get the best possible quality, and I know you cant amp noise canceling headphones. I am interested in purchasing sound isolating headphones, and I can buy AKG K272s for 150 or AKG Q701s for 240. Which one would be better for use in my situation with an amp? I have my eye on the Audio gd NFB-12 as an amp-dac combo. Thank you!

The 701's won't block any noise, since they are full open.

The K271/272's isolate pretty well, especially ambient noise. They don't block out voices very well at all though.

my advice would be buy larger fans at slower speed for your computer. it will do the job just as well or better. you don't need crap load of fans in your case to get good airflow. what is your case used?

EDIT: never mind i saw fans used.....DEAR GOD man, this ain't hurricane Katrina. can cut some of those fans loose man.
