My pair came today, and I have to say they are bloody brilliant for £25 inc P&P! The bass on them is superb, fit is tight, and leakage is minimal. They look pretty retro/funky too.

I recently sold a pair of Shure SE530s as I'd become too used to my HD650s at home; but these little babies sound much nicer to my ears for over £200 less! Gotta say I never liked headphones before I joined this place; but things have changed and I'm at leasta grand poorer than before

Nevar :P I *can* tell the difference between sources and 'phones, don't get me wrong. I'm just more satisfied with a cheaper true headphone solution as opposed to expensive IEMS, that's all I'm sayin'

Hold a sec...you liked the AKGs more than the Shures? Or more than the HD650s? Or more than *gasp* ...both?

Hey, I love my K26Ps too...outside. But there isn't much soundstage to speak off, and the bass is sometimes over-powering. I'd be surprised if I thought the 26Ps > SE530s, let alone the 650s...

Still, glad you like them. Yay K26P!

Not a patch on the 650s but definitely more my sound than the Shures.

Technically speaking I the AKGs most certainly won't be better than the Shures, but as we're talking about two different technologies and sound characteristics, the AKGs offered me more in the sound signature more than anything.

EDIT: It also might be worth noting that my main genre of choice is drum & bass/jungle; so if you're a fan of other genres like classical or jazz (which I do like by the way), my opinion may make no sense.

The K26p has never really gotten much respect here. Most complain of the overpowering bass. I think they are a marvel to produce such a big, fun, and bassy sound in such a small package. I used them on my last flight and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of isolation they produced. My only complaint is the creaking sound they make as you move your head. If onyone figures out a fix or mod for that I would love to hear it.

I got the AKG K414P (the successor of the k26p) and I don't find any creaks!

Good isolation and punchy bass, great buy, got them for $46

I have got the akg k416p. I do love their bass but i agree that they can be rather overpowering at times. Besides, it clamps my head rather tightly, so it hurts after 15 mins or so.. However they're great to use in the gym.
