Hi
I have recently bought the AKG K240 after my old Sennheiser PC 161 broke. The price tag of 60€ combined with the amazing reviews really convinced me to purchase them. They're not bad headphones and have crisp clear sound but what is definitely lacking is punch. I listen to music to enjoy it not to use it as a background entertainer. When using my soundcard manager and setting the equalizer to "Rock", it gets A LOT better. I feel like the bass is still too deep. Bass is good but it sounds like you're standing right next to a concert speaker.
I was very comfortable with my PC 161, they were amazing at every genre and gaming. They had a very balanced mix of instruments. Nothing stood out too much, and they had a good punch but bass wasn't too much. They were just perfect for me. Unfortunately you can't buy them anymore so I'm looking for a good alternative!
Suggestions very welcome.
Thanks
