I'm currently using V6s for my guitar rig--and they're nice for this, lightweight and comfortable with good sound for this use--but sometimes the low-end gets carried away and can be hard on the ears.

So I'm considering a "leaner" headphone for this use. I understand the studio AKGs offer similar monitoring qualities and detail but with a leaner bass.

Of importance though this is an ampless application, so if both of these really need amps they won't be good choices. They're going right out of a processor and I don't know what kind of power it has to drive them.

Anyway--just wondering which of these would be the better choice--or even if they're equivalent.

Thanks.

Old K240M or newer K240DF might work, but they are not closed + bit hard to drive. K240S has bit humped but sloppy bass and not so detailed, not good IMO. Sennheiser HD280 Pro perhaps?
