Aful Performer Impressions Thread

im getting the same issue, with the moondrop Dawn Pro it sounds bassy and full, while on the BTR7 it feels a bit plain and thin, and im running it off the balanced out.
I have decent enough sound with R3II, balanced, low gain. It sounds a bit smaller than DX300 but it’s okay trade off for convenience to me.

I have a few sets of IEMs which I planned to use mostly with my cheap DAPs for outdoor activities. The DAPs produce somewhat weak bass, perhaps to conserve battery power. Anyway, the IEMs which will be used with the cheap DAPs get their tuning tweaked with eartips and/or mesh filters in order to make these IEMs sound good with the DAPs, yet do sound a bit off in terms of overall tuning when used with my desktop amps.

Not sure this is the right place to post this - but I picked up the Aful Cantor on the 11/11 sale. I already have the Performer8 and the MagicOne. The P8 is one of my favorites, so I figured this would be safe flagship purchase.

I am completely blown away by how good the Cantor is. Holy cow. It sounds amazing with everything I throw at it.

At its price it should be good :) i only afraid of cantor to be overly detailed and separating and technical to not enjoy it for music a a whole. But perhaps it is not what imagine

Haha! Good point. I'm a big believer in having "twin" IEMs. A set for critical listening and set for pure enjoyment. The Cantor fits the bill EXACTLY for what I want out of the critical listening set. Extremely accurate, fast across the entire spectrum, coherent (no point where you hear a different driver type "take over" the frequency range), and hyper-detailed. It replaces the Thieaudio Monarch V1 with that role in my collection.

Tonal balance is great as well. Bass is surprisingly tactile for an all-BA set.

Now I need to decide if I want to sell off the Monarch (and a few other detail-oriented sets that I will probably not listen to anymore). #sigh

It does cellos and male vocals like John Denver and Johnny Cash surprisingly well, despite not boosting the lower mid at all. I’m daily driving cantor with R3ii these days. It’s like bringing my U12t-class IEM with me without actually carrying one. Still expensive, but less painful when lost.

Hey. What about the fit ?
Aful (8, explorer, magicone) were perfect for my ears . I see Cantor being different. So I wonder how the fit might be. Thanks
