Anyone notice that, at the end of every Flavor of the Month, there is a rise in that item on the GFS/FT forum? It's not only WTB threads, it's FS. Almost like the headphone expired after 30 days and then they choose to sell it.

Or is it just me

I noticed that with eggos. Might be why there's so many Gilmore V2s popping up as well.

Unfortunately, too many products get hyped beyond reality and people are bound to be disappointed with the results. There are far too many variables in each of our systems and what works for you may not work for me.

I heard all the hype about the Halcro dm10 and dm58. You know, best amplifier ever, must have. Well, it's a very decent setup but I don't think it's worth the $38,000 price tag. It might be the best ever but I've listened to setups at half the price and I know that I'd be just as happy with those setups. $19,000 goes a long way to a lot of other stuff.

Headphone gear is not SO expensive that people can afford to experiment and because there are few opportunities for us to audition most of the gear without having to buy it.

Heh, I might just buy some eggos now just because their price is dropping a bit. I can use them as earmuffs in the winter.

The trend with headphones is quite odd, I agree. We've gone from ats to cd3ks to grados to . . . perhaps people want a break from the sennheiser sound?

I see alot of what you are talking about...I myself am part of the recycling.

Lately, there seem to be loads of Senn 600s going up for sale...could it be folks clearing the way for the 650s?

I loved the 600s while I had them and have been tempted several times over the past week to jump on one of these used pairs. My new source, the Pioneer 563A is on the bright side and I miss the mellow nature of the 600s. It sounds nice, round and detailed with my Senn 540s...but I did love the lushness of the 600s.

I wondered about that.
