Hey all,

I've got a birthday comming up this month, and I'm trying to get the folks to spring for a turntable. I'm currently eyeing the MMF-2.1 or 5, and now need to worry about a phono pre amp. I'm really pushing it as is asking for something as costly as the table, so I wanna purchase the phonostage myself with my own limited funds. I would prefer to buy used, and would really love any suggestions at $250 or less.

Are there some great vintage units I should be looking at, or should I consider having a DIYer build me one or would I be best off going with a channel island or one of the onese I keep seeing bundled with it, and just giving my parents money toward the whole package.

PM daycart1 to see if he still has that XLPS for sale. I was pretty satisfied with the XLP I had. Although I was using it in conjunction with the XPSU.
