I currently have a Schiit Bifrost Uber that I have to split between two amplifiers, one having balanced only inputs which I currently use single-ended adapters on. I'm looking into the possibility of adding another DAC to use exclusively with the balanced amp.
 
Which DACs are available with balanced outputs AND are less than $800 or so?
 
I'm aware of the Schiit Gungnir. Are there any options available near that price that use multi-bit processors?

Sort of a random suggestion, but you can always use a passive DI to convert to balanced. Something like this:

(there are cheaper ones, but you'd need adapters)

Audio-gd has a few options in that range. I love their gear . I think the Gustard DAC might have balanced outs as well?

I looked into the Audio-GD NFB-1 a bit last night and they sound interesting. Although upon a quick look I'm not really sure what the differences are between the NFB-1DAC and NFB-1S. Another thing I'm considering is selling the Bifrost and getting a Gungnir which has both sets of outputs. That might be cheaper than buying an extra DAC and keeping the Bifrost. Plus Schiit is supposedly coming out with a multi-bit upgrade in the future.
 
Has anyone done any comparisons between the Schiit models mentioned and the Audio-GD NFB-1?

This is what I would bank on, honestly. Schiit DACs are meant to be platforms that you can upgrade, and I am 99% certain that Jason hinted to a multibit upgrade for Gungnir (and Bifrost) in a recent Schiit Happened.
