I have recently gotten a Clix2 8gb and after some great advise from people over on the Headphones section, have some Alessandros MS-1's on their way to me (

)

Now we move onto the second part of my (wallet hurting) entry into all this. An amp.

So, firstly, how much of a difference will an amp make with the above setup, bearing in mind the Clix2 doesn't have a line out.

Secondly, after reading around a good bit, the general concensus seemed to be that the Go-Vibe 6 was a very very good value little amp that worked well. So I got and find the website for them only to find a message saying they are not being made anymore :'( So, I now need advice again :p

Also, cables. What difference will the cable make between the source and amp? As in would there be much difference between a 5 quid cable and a 25 quid one, or would the equipement be more likely to make the choice pointless?

I think thats all of my questions for now, I'm sure more will pop up during the course of the conversations that are sure to follow as you all desperatly try to make me spend all my hard earned money

Oh yeah, a budget... cheap :p somewhere under the $100 range

EDIT: Music preference - Mostly Rock/Metal and a random sprinkling of other stuff, but not that much

Without a line out, you would be wasting your money. I would suggest you get your hps and hear how they sound. Amping the hp out will not give you the benefit that a line out to hp amp would. It might make it louder, but the quality would not benefit.

I listen to my 80's straight out of my ipod all day at work with no problem. They sound great too.
