I have a Fiio R7 , Fiio power supply and Fiio FT 3 over ear headphones.

Also, have. Fiio M11S with Fiio FH5s Earphones

Would like to improve on the sound quality front.

Do i simply upgrade to the R9 ?

Or is there a better value proposition for headphone listening experience at home?

Is there a better streaming, amp, dac, headphone combo ?

Simply looking for a an improved performance over the Fiio R7

You'll get far more audible improvement by upgrading the headphones than by upgrading the source. The R9 seems to be around $1500--you could get some spectacular headphones with that budget.
